-Mermatitus Balooty-

Donny Demille's big day had finally come.
He bought his ticket, grabbed a few snacks, and sat on his bum.

He had saved his money for 8 months and 23 days.
Doing job after job, making money in many different ways.

He sold lemonade from a stand in front of his house.
He worked as an assistant for the verbally abusive actor, Mickey Mouse.

He shined shoes at the airport, making just 2 dollars a day.
He juggled in front of a piano, with some blind fella named Ray.

He worked for scientist who tested medicines, causing him to grow a sixth toe.
He worked as a greeter at a restaurant, wearing a fancy red bow.

Donny Demille's big day had finally come, but why was this day such a big deal?
He endured all these horrible jobs just to go to Seaweed World? What is the appeal?

Donny first heard about Seaweed World from his crazy Science teacher Mr. G.
Who taught him about all the wondrous creatures that lived in the sea.

He learned about the shark that taught Sunday school, but only on Friday.
He learned about the movie star fish that always cried, "things must be done my way!".

He learned about the mother-in-law fish who would always give her point of view.
He learned about the son-in-law fish that would often poop in her shoe.

He learned about the monstrous creature from the black lagoon.
Who had once team up with NASA to be the first creature to walk on the moon.

He learned about the fish who claimed to have caught a human this.........big.
He learned about the manatee that pretended he was a lady and wore a blond wig.

He learned about the loch ness monster, the sea dragon, and the underwater bumble bee.
But none could compare to what Donny really wanted to see.

He came to Seaweed World to see the greatest creature of them all.
The creature that was as strong as ten men, and in battle, would never fall.

The creature who always had the most beautiful girlfriend in the entire Sea.
The creature that was the most ferocious of them all, and could even make sharks flee.

It was the Mermatitus Balooty, known as the merman to some.
But when Donny first saw him in his tank, he thought, "this things a bum!".

Donny was sad, and thought, "could the legends all be untrue?"
"This thing isn't tough, I could scare him off with my shoe."

A tear rolled down Donny's cheek, but before he could walk away.
The merman put his hand on the glass which made Donny feel ok.

The merman did some amazing tricks, and told jokes too.
Jokes that hit home. Funny, because they were true.

The merman did a trick were he pulled his thumb off his hand.
He also pretended to be a dog, sniffing his way through the sand.

The merman did anything and everything just to make Donny smile.
It was a big challenge, but it only took the merman a little while.

Donny felt much better and realized he was wrong.
While the merman wasn't ferocious, his spirit was strong.

Donny thought, "Sure, the merman probably isn't the toughest creature in all of the sea.
But he's cheerful and upbeat, and that's cool with me."

The merman on the other hand, was thinking something entirely different in fact.
He was trying to get the boy to come close to the tank, because he hadn't eaten a boy in days, and wanted a tasty snack.

The End...
