Poof!

The once young Joseph was getting very old.
He had run out of room for memories, but not out of gold.
He thought to himself, "there so much more I'd still like to see".
So, he asked his marmalade cat what she would do, if she was he.
"Well, Its simple old friend." She said with a fur filled smile.
"Build a time bending machine that can take you to before in a just little while".
So Old man Joseph, who was once very young,
Began to build a time machine, for which his gold would fund.
He slaved for months, until the contraption was finally complete.
And then he lured his marmalade cat to the stool with a tasty marmalade treat.
The cat licked at the sweet treat, without a thought in her mind.
Suddenly hearing a switch and a crack, she was flying through time.
In the old mans haste to test his magnificent machine,
he hadn't thought about how his cat would get back to their young house that sits in the old ravine.
The once young Joseph was too scared to continue testing his machine.
Knowing he'd foolishly lost his marmalade cat, and thinking, "how could I be so mean?"
Joseph's story is a sad one. If only he'd given it more thought.
He passed away a lonely man, never again touching the machine that his gold bought.
The marmalade cat, on the other hand, was doing just fine.
She found herself in Egypt, during a marvelous time.
She missed the old man, and all the good fun they had.
But she was now being worshiped, and that's just pretty darn rad!
